The Excelsior Block is the building on the right in this photograph. It was built in 1882, a two story red brick building trimmed in stone. It features an ornate metal fire escape in the north side of the building and a metal gable parapet on the front. There are commercial businesses on the street level and apartments on the second floor, including a short term getaway apartment. The time tunnel .gif above takes you from 2017 to 1912. The historic photo is from the John Runk Collection, courtesy of the Stillwater Public Library.
